Single Mom in Need

One of the ladies we have recently been working with has been blessed to move out of transitional shared housing and have her own one bedroom apartment. Dana* came to the city a few months ago, living in her car with two young children escaping an abusive relationship. Today her future is brighter with a permanent home for her family, but as you can imagine she has some huge needs. Next week some of our staff will be helping Dana purchase some basic pieces of furniture for her apartment, including a bunk bed for her young children. At this point she has $100 to put towards her expenses. Would you consider joining us in helping start a home for this precious family? We need Target and Ikea giftcards of any amount. Manicure anyone?

Having their nails painted makes every woman feel good! We are currently using nail painting to engage with women in the Tenderloin of San Francisco. Many of them are trapped in prostitution, drug addicted and needing time out from the pressures of the street. Receiving a free manicure enables them to take a break, feel encouraged and allows our staff 15 minues of uninterrupted conversation! This is a great way to offer spiritual support and referrals. 'Blessed are the Feet...'

At the end of April we are hosting a womens outreach event called 'Blessed are the Feet...' where we will be giving away shoes to women. To do this we need 100 pairs of shoes, shoes, shoes! Please consider donating a pair, hosting a shoe drive at your church or purchasing a pair to give! Here are the details:

Shoes: We need donations of sensible shoes. Please do not bring dress shoes or high heeled shoes. Examples of shoes we would like include; womens tennis shoes, flats, slip ons, sandals, boots etc. If you choose to donate used shoes please only give shoes in good condition which are clean. Even better, consider purchasing a pair of new shoes as a gift for a lady. All womens sizes are welcome.

Where: Please bring shoes to 357 Ellis Street before April 16th.
